History

Ken and Verna Hackert started Hackert Landscaping in 1994. Brent and Brenda Rolffs purchased the company in 2005. Brent previously worked for the business since 2002.

Hackert Landscaping, Inc. is a design/build firm and provides a full range of landscaping services.

We design and install landscapes for residential and commercial properties. We have worked on projects in Jasper, Poweshiek, Marion, Polk and Story Counties.

We provide knowledge, expertise and solutions. Our trained and professional staff will provide top quality service.  We will visit you at your home or office to discuss your landscaping needs.  Meet our professionals:

Marilyn Magnuson has a Bachelor and Masters Degree in Landscape Architecture, and a Masters Degree in Community and Regional Planning from Iowa State University.  She is a Full Member of the American Society of Landscape Architects.  Marilyn has been with Hackert Landscaping since 1999.

She has prepared residential and commercial design plans for over eighteen years along with conceptual plans for three public parks.  She has also traveled extensively, visiting and studying private and public gardens all over the United States as well as many public gardens in France.

Marilyn taught Garden Design in the Horticulture Department at Iowa State University from 2002 to 2003.  She also taught the Landscape Construction class for one semester.  She wrote the design component for the Iowa Master Gardener program for Iowa State University Extension. Marilyn has presented her design philosophy to many different groups over the years.

Brenda Rolffs manages the business office.
